All about Mitch.

Mitch goes through a lot of change in the novel. We learn about Mitch as a teenager, and have a few glimpses of him as a child. What types of changes do we get to see by reading the novel? How old was Mitch when these changes happened? What caused the change to come about? Was the change a positive or negative change?

There are drastic changes in the novel, such as when his brother gets polio and when he finds out Morrie is dying. Mitch was really young when his brother was diagnosed with polio and was in his late 20's or so when he found out Morrie was dying. They could be negative for the obvious reasons, or positive, because he is now reunited with an old friend.

Mitch went through a lot of changes like his mom dying when he was eight and his uncle dying when he ws in college and now Morrie is slowly dying. When Mitch's uncle died he just started to get into becoming a really heavy drinker. He just ignored the fact that his mom died by keeping his emoptions to himself and not showing that he was really hurting, and when he sees Morrie he is just scared for him but Morrie doesnt want him to be scared for him becasue he thinks its a positive thing and that people can learn from it.

In the novel we get to see mitch's decisions after college. At the time he thought going into the newspaper buisiness was great, and that money was everything. When he revisted morrie after all of the years, he sees that he forgot about the meaning of life. So mitch made a bad decision.

I think tthat morri is more or less an angle for mitch because he helps him see what is important in life even as he is losing his. Thats got to not be an easy thing to do.

Mitch has changes throughout his life as a teenager and adult. One would be his brother getting sick when they were younger and his uncle when he got and died from cancer.these happened when he was a kid and adult. He learns from each expereance and it has effected him. He felt guilty about his brother. With his uncle, he fills his life but it does not "fill" him. Both a positice and negative changes.

We get to see Mitch start out as a playful child, then at the occurance of his Uncle's death, he became more work oriented. And decided to make sure his life was fullfilled when he died. As his life progressed more, he met Morrie, who was in a way, Mitch's savior. He started getting him to view the big picture instead of all of the moeny related things in life. But as Mitch graduated, he lost touch with Morrie and became work oriented again. And got too in depth in the work, losing important bonding time with his family. Then one night he saw Morrie on nightline, and flew to see him. As they spoke evey tuesday, Mitch began to realize the important things in life again.

Mitch goes through a lot of changes throughout the book. He goes from a goal-oriented kid in college to a workaholic.

You can see a major change in Mitch from when he graduates college, does not see Morrie, then sixteen years later, picks up the friendship. While he is with Morrie in college he was focused, accomplished and determined. When he graduated he became sucked into the corporate world and his main focus was on his next pay check and how many people noticed him. For the sixteen years that he had no contact with Morrie he lost sight of the things that were most important to him and became worried about what everyone else thought. He changes yet again when he starts going to see Morrie. He starts looking at what is important to him and enjoying the small things in life. I believe that when Morrie passes away he will keep the advice he learned from Morrie in these last lessons and not go back to his old habits.

Mitch goes through a few major changes in his life. His mother and his uncle die when he is a kid. He didn't respond so well to these because his father told him to not talk about it.

Before mitch meets morrie he had been doing everything that he hoped he wouldnt, he got caught up in a job, and forgot about all of his dreams, he was embarrassed when he went to first meet morrie, he hid in his car until he got off the phone, he was very bad with showing and expressing his emotions and feeling, but the more he talked and met with morrie, the better he got at it, he started to realize the importance of life and that he wants to start having more fun not just focus on being wealthy, and important.

Mitch goes through alot of when he was little. His mother dies and then his uncle dies. Morrie though has helped with Mitch's life because he helps him learn what life is about. Their sessions are the best thing to Mitch and he has been able to overcome some weakness like with the catheter.

When in college Mitch doesnt really know where he is going in life but he does like his music and wants to pursue a career in music but then when he finds out that Morrie has ALS he leaves/graduates college and is depressed. He pursues a career in journalism and when he comes back to see morrie he realizes what has happened to his life from then and now. He wishes he was like what he was back then.

i think that Mitch has become something he really didnt want to become. he ended up sorta like his uncle. As he continues his meetings with Morrie, he is realizing just what humanity is becomeing and what kind of person he is and who he wants to be

Mitch does a complete one eighty throughout this story. He is so much like Morrie in the beginning. Then, after college, he gave up his dream for something less satisfying in the dream category, and more satisfying in the money category. After reconnecting with Morrie, Mitch slowly begins to change. He still wants to be who he is, but with a few good modifications.

Mitch goes thruogh a lot of changes. He was just out of college when he realized that he needed to do something with his life. The thing that caused these changes was his uncle dieing an d he realized that he needed to become more serious with his life and learn to take care of his family.

I dont really think it gave us much about his childhood and i think that it would have been better if he had more. but he makes a lot of changes throughout the story. he becomes a more positive person which makes him happier.

I agree with Rachel, there are many things people are unable to do, but usually the things you are able to do and do well balance eachother out.
